Description:

Monitors the activity of long-term residents participating in a residential rehabilitation or treatment program; ensures safety, security and compliance with house rules; maintains accurate and complete client and case records and logs; ensures the long-term housing facility is maintained in a neat and proper order; ensures compliance of the treatment plan and that teaching skills are adhered to.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor the activities of residents to ensure safety and compliance with long-term resident facility house rules; check security of windows and doors; perform periodic rounds of the facility; record unique situations on assigned shift.
  • Support the teaching of social skills and other residential program house rules; support treatment plans and individualized service plans; monitor client activities to ensure adherence to plans.
  • Respond to emergencies calmly and initiate corrective actions per policies and procedures.
  • Complete required paperwork for client intake and daily case notes; input data into the computer to maintain client records.
  • Assist with verbal and physical aggressions from residents; assist in referrals for admission to Treatment Program; maintain waiting list.
  • Maintain contacts with other agencies as needed to coordinate services for residents.
  • Provide training and assistance in developing and maintaining basic living skills.
  • Attend meetings as requested by the Program Director.
Other Responsibilities
  • Provide transportation of clients as needed.
  • Direct clients to appropriate agencies for their special needs.
  • Perform other related work as required.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience:

    Associate degree from an accredited college or university; one year experience performing security or social service work preferred; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Mental and physical abilities:
    Ability to meet attendance requirements; ability to read, write, and communicate in English; ability to respond to emergencies quickly and calmly; ability to perform sitting, standing, and walking with frequent changes; travel within the building.
  • Physical:
    Light lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs; 5-10% of work time.
  • Working conditions:

    Work is performed in a lodge/shelter facility with typical conditions described.
