Job Description
POSITION:
Controls Field Service Technician (9470510)

DutiesInterface with relevant departments to obtain a thorough understanding of NOV products and how they are safely operated, tested, calibrated and problems are resolved in a timely manner. Perform field upgrades of software and hardware and train customers on how to properly operate the system. Communicate field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departments. Complete and submit field service documentation in a timely manner.
Install, commission, troubleshoot and repair NOV control systems. Install, commission, troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Install, commission, troubleshoot and repair VFD and SCR. Install, commission, troubleshoot and repair Electrical systems, Hydraulic Systems and Pneumatic Systems. Travel to customer sites to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, repair and train customers on the safe and proper operations of NOV products.
Read and interpret Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic drawings. Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and control circuits. Utilize various electrical diagnostic tools including multimeters, oscilloscope and basic hand tools.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of experience in a related occupation reading and interpreting Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic drawings; troubleshooting electrical, electronic, and control circuits; and utilizing various electrical diagnostic tools including multimeters, oscilloscope and basic hand tools. Travel both domestic and international, to perform new installations and/or repair existing equipment.
Travel required, domestic & int'l 60-65%.
