Ready for a role where the hours are set, the benefits are great, and you're giving back to the community? Then look no further! The Tulsa City-County Library (TCCL) is hiring on staff a full-time Contract Plumber to provide excellent service to our 25 buildings.

This exciting position - where you can be your own boss - will oversee all plumbing aspects of interior/exterior construction and repair of library facilities. You will ensure cost-efficient maintenance of plumbing systems and equipment, including installation, maintenance, alterations, and repairs of all plumbing systems.
This is a safety sensitive position.

This role is guaranteed 40 hours a week with occasional opportunities for overtime; the preferred schedule 6:00 am - 2:30 pm to perform work prior to our 24 branches opening. M
inimal weekend work is required, and no on call rotations

The Contract Plumber will work at our Support Services Facility downtown, and will report to the System Facilities Manager who will deploy jobs through a system wide work ticket process.

The right individual will also have the opportunity to assist with other maintenance related duties as part of an experienced and well respected facilities team. Developing and expanding your skill set is also an option as the library offers training to obtain a 1st Class Stationary Engineer Limited License for interested incumbents.

The best qualified candidates will have a thorough knowledge of principles and practices of plumbing repair and construction, the ability to monitor plumbing aspects of construction and repair projects and ensure adherence to contract specifications and code requirements. In addition, experience in specifying, selecting, and purchasing materials, and strong communication skills will help the right individual succeed in this role.

Additional training at a trade or vocational school is required, as is five or more years' plumbing experience.
The selected individual must have a plumbing contractor's license and must pledge their license to the library exclusively (DBA Library), A valid driver's license and good driving record required; lift truck and boom lift certification preferred.

Work involves considerable physical exertion, such as regularly lifting of heavy items (up to 80 pounds) such as carts or crates full of books, on a highly frequent basis and/or assuming awkward positions.

Work involves risks of discomforts, which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, carts, or machines; may require working in adverse weather conditions. Work environment involves routine discomforts from exposure to moderate heat, cold, moisture/wetness and unpleasant air conditions. The job may involve routine exposure to soiled materials and light chemical substances such as cleaning solutions.

Travel:
Routine, in-town travel using Library-owned vehicles is required.
