This position is for our routine maintenance crew and truck driver II is just the classification per the MSA for pay scale. Must have Class D driver license.
Specific
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor, including, but not limited to lifting 25+ lbs., bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in the heat.
- Shovel bituminous concrete (asphalt) or other material into the construction area.
- Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
- Material handling and storage.
- Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials.
- Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the direct supervisor.
- Convoys tools, equipment and parts to the work area.
- Gathers tools and supplies to be used at the work site according to the instructions.
- Saw cut, demo and remove concrete via jack hammering or hand tools.
- Ability to use tools properly and safely.
- Safely operate Earth Moving equipment.
- Act as a spotter for moving equipment to prevent incidents and accidents.
- Assists in lifting, positioning or fastening objects.
- May disassemble defective equipment, replace worn or defective parts and reassemble equipment.
- Working knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in an industrial setting.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Other duties as assigned.
