Position SummaryThe Sprinkler Technician Helper is an entry‑level role that supports experienced technicians on all aspects of sprinkler system installation, upkeep and troubleshooting. The helper learns fire protection technology while performing hands‑on tasks and ensuring systems are installed and operating in compliance with industry standards.
Core Responsibilities- Assist with the installation of fire sprinkler systems, including measuring, cutting and assembling pipes and fittings.
- Help set up and connect components, ensuring installations meet specifications and safety standards.
- Participate in routine maintenance and inspections to confirm systems remain operational and compliant with NFPA codes.
- Support troubleshooting and minor repairs as directed by senior technicians.
- Maintain accurate records of installation, maintenance and repair activities.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on work progress and addressing concerns.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Engage in on‑the‑job training and company‑provided learning programs to develop technical skills.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail and professional attitude.
- Ability to use hand tools and basic measurement equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Pass pre‑employment background checks and drug screenings; ongoing compliance required.
- Physical labor capability: lift and move up to 50 lbs; climb ladders; work in confined spaces.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and be on‑call as needed.
- Basic understanding of plumbing or mechanical systems.
- Basic knowledge of fire sprinkler systems or related technology.
- Experience or coursework related to plumbing or mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with NFPA codes and standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages.
