Field Service Mechanic

Position:
Field Service Mechanic – Heavy Equipment & Diesel Repair – Full‑time at Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction.

$30/HR to $50/HR depending on experience.

• Perform routine maintenance and large repairs on heavy construction equipment and vehicles including cranes, boom lifts, forklifts, excavators, loaders, concrete paving machines, etc., as well as pickup trucks.
• Diagnose and repair/rebuild all equipment and vehicles as determined by the shop manager.
• Perform field repairs and operate construction equipment and vehicles to complete repairs.
• Maintain zero repeat/redo repairs, clean equipment, and record all work in daily logs.
• Assist in keeping the shop organized and clean, support safety inspections, and recommend improvements to the shop manager.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent; up to two years related education/training acceptable.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience working on heavy construction equipment and vehicles.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience with diesel fuel systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience performing field repairs for cranes, forklifts, and boom lifts.
• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Valid driver’s license required; commercial driver’s license preferred.
• Valid Class A or Class B CDL required.
• Good vision; ability to perform basic math.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl regularly.
