Job Details
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise a team of scaffolding crew, ensuring timely and specific‑quality work.
- Delegate tasks based on crew members’ skills and experience.
- Maintain a collaborative, positive work environment; promptly address any team issues.
- Oversee construction and dismantling of scaffolding structures, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Ensure proper materials are used and that scaffolding is erected per project specifications, drawings, and industry codes.
- Enforce strict adherence to all safety guidelines and regulations (OSHA, local regulations, company protocols).
- Conduct regular safety checks; ensure crew uses appropriate protective equipment.
- Train and mentor crew members on safe scaffolding practices and hazard recognition.
- Maintain accurate daily logs of work performed, manpower, materials, and equipment status.
- Document incidents, safety concerns, or delays in a timely manner.
- Coordinate scaffolding needs and scheduling with other trades and personnel.
- Report issues, delays, or resource shortages to project management promptly.
- Provide on‑the‑job training for less experienced scaffolders and crew members.
- Assist in developing training programs or materials to enhance team competencies.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and storage of scaffolding equipment and materials.
- Manage material delivery and inventory to keep tools and materials available when needed.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in scaffolding or industrial construction.
- Previous experience as a Leadman or Foreman on scaffolding projects is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with various scaffolding systems (tube and clamp, system scaffolding, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards related to scaffolding.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Scaffolding Competent Person certification or equivalent.
- OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Safety certification.
- Work in various weather conditions and demanding environments.
- Lift heavy materials and climb scaffolds and ladders.
- Operate in confined spaces and at heights, wearing appropriate PPE.
- Stand, bend, crouch, and lift objects as needed.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
The employee must wear and properly use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Proper PPE includes hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel‑toed shoes, or other equipment as required by the job location and performed tasks. The Company expects all employees to observe and fulfill all safety responsibilities, actively maintaining a safe workplace. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
