Job Summary

Assistant Manager at Citi Trends supports the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations, ensuring a positive customer experience, efficient inventory management, and a well‑trained team. The role involves overseeing daily operations, maintaining store standards, and leading the team to achieve sales goals. Additionally, the role builds a positive work culture, drives employee engagement, and supports change management efforts within the retail organization.

• Ensure a welcoming environment by greeting customers, maintaining store appearance, displays, and signage.
• Train and coach team members to provide exceptional customer service and engagement.
• Oversee inventory flow, including markdowns, ticketing, clearance management, and accurate pricing.
• Maintain organized stockrooms, remove damaged or expired items, and set freight goals to support efficient operations.
• Provide continuous feedback on customer service, store policies, operational procedures, and compliance tasks.
• Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to achieve sales targets; collaborate with the store manager on marketing and promotional campaigns.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
• Assist the Store Manager with daily operations and supervision of employees.
• Maintain proper inventory controls and facilitate inventory transactions, ensuring compliance with shrink control standards.
• Direct and supervise employees engaged in sales, inventory‑taking, reconciling cash receipts, or performing services for customers.
• Ensure staff adherence to all Citi Trends, Inc. policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of retail experience as an Assistant Manager (3–5 years preferred).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.

• Squat/Kneel/Stoop – frequent to continuous.

• Reach above shoulder – occasional to frequent.
• Lift/Carry – occasional to frequent.
• Push/Pull – occasional to frequent.
