Overview
As the Executive Chef, you will be the culinary ambassador for the hotel's Warren Duck Club and Creekside Lounge, as well as our meeting and event space by creating exceptional dining experiences for every guest. You will lead and manage the kitchen team, ensuring all menu items are prepared to the highest quality standards and that the food is handled and stored in full compliance with established guidelines.
This role also includes menu development, food purchasing, and maintaining approved food and labor cost controls. You must have availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Lead and manage the kitchen team to prepare menu items to the highest quality standards.
- Develop menus and recipes; manage food purchasing and cost controls (food and labor).
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and compliance with established guidelines for all food.
- Communicate effectively with guests and maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Collaborate with co-workers; be willing to pitch-in and assist others as needed.
- Ensure security of kitchen access, products, and hotel property.
- Operate, clean, and maintain all equipment required for the job; manage physical activities including continuous walking.
- Plan and develop menus and recipes while applying basic supervisory skills (organize, direct, coach, train, and discipline as necessary).
- Transport and handle goods and equipment as required (up to 100 lbs on a continuous basis).
- Ability to communicate in English; self-starting with an even disposition; strong guest contact skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor; team player with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong supervisory, planning, and organizational abilities; ability to manage stress and time constraints.
- Finger/hand dexterity to operate food machinery; ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with others in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation: $80,000 to $85,000 per year
