Position SummarySystem One is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Aerospace Quality Inspector to join our client and their Quality Assurance team in Owasso, OK. This essential role focuses on maintaining compliance with FAA/EASA regulations, adhering to AS9100 standards, and fulfilling internal quality requirements. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in inspecting aircraft components, accurately interpreting technical documentation, and driving continuous improvement in a fast‑paced aerospace environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections of incoming, in-process, and final parts and assemblies to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges to verify that components conform to specified tolerances.
- Ensure compliance of all components with FAA regulations, customer specifications, and internal quality standards.
- Review and verify essential documentation, such as Certificates of Conformance, work orders, and inspection reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Document inspection results accurately and maintain quality records in compliance with FAA and AS9100 guidelines.
- Identify and report nonconformities; assist in root cause analysis and support the implementation of corrective actions.
- Perform equipment calibrations as needed to maintain measuring tool accuracy.
- Support various audits (internal, customer, FAA) and actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve quality-related issues.
- High school diploma or GED is required; technical training or certification in aerospace quality is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in aerospace or FAA repair station inspection is essential.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations (Part 145), AS9100, and aerospace documentation practices is crucial.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools and basic mechanical inspection techniques.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of CMM programming using Zeiss Calypso software is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
- Experience in non-destructive testing (NDT), calibration, or special processes is advantageous.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)
- IPC, NADCAP, or NDT Level II Certification
This is a full-time, on‑site position in Owasso, OK. The role may require standing for extended periods and working in proximity to machinery or repair equipment. The standard workweek includes occasional overtime or shift adjustments based on production demands.
