Travel RN - Labor & Delivery

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring at least 1-2 years of recent L&D experience, basic/intermediate fetal monitoring skills, and day shift availability with every other weekend coverage.

Job Details

• Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting,

• Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM),

• Every other weekend coverage required,

• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:2,

• Patients include laboring patients, C-section patients, and PACU recovery of post-cesarean patients,

• Epic EMR used; experience preferred but not required,

• Scrubs are provided by the facility,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required,

• Current certifications: BLS and NRP,

• Minimum 1-2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required,

• Basic and intermediate fetal monitoring skills required,

• Experience with medication titration (oxytocin and magnesium), cervical dilation checks, labor management, C-section circulator role, and PACU recovery of post-cesarean patients,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include fetal monitoring, medication titration, labor management, C-section circulator duties, PACU recovery of C-section patients, peripheral line care, and isolation precaution/PPE management,

• Computerized documentation is performed in Epic,

• Previous travel nursing experience preferred,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position,

• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler,

• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved; no RTO during the first week of orientation,

• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
