Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Neuro-Stroke unit position on a night shift schedule, requiring telemetry capability and NIH Stroke Scale certification.

Job Details

• Work in a 28-bed Medical/Neuro-Stroke unit serving adult patients in a hospital setting,

• Patient population includes neurological and stroke patients requiring telemetry monitoring,

• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6,

• Unit is supported by PCTs, a Healthcare Unit Coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients,

• Night shift: 18:30-07:00,

• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active OK RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand,

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required,

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required,

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required,

• Must possess a valid US Social Security Number and a US home address,

• Driver's License required for consideration,

• Two professional references required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include implementing and monitoring patient care plans, communicating patient condition, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and carrying out physician and nursing orders,

• Discharge planning coordination with the healthcare team is an expected part of the role,

• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment are essential,

• Standard precautions and appropriate use of personal protective equipment are required,
