Job Opportunity Position:
Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery unit. This is a night shift position, requiring a commitment of three 12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15), with block scheduling available.

• Deliver exceptional nursing care to patients in Labor and Delivery.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and recognize abnormal patterns.
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and manage patient care following various obstetrical procedures.
• Provide postpartum care, including lactation support and breastfeeding assistance.
• Conduct antepartum and triage assessments, including Non-Stress Tests (NST).
• Administer medications and IV therapy, including antihypertensives and insulin drips.
• Perform essential nursing procedures such as sterile vaginal exams, Foley catheter management, and cord sample collection.

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Experience in a teaching hospital is preferred.
• Travel experience is required.
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP;
  Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate.

• Experience in high-risk antepartum care.
• Knowledge of fetal monitoring techniques, including spiral electrode placement and internal/external monitoring.
• Ability to assist with various labor and delivery procedures such as forceps/vacuum extraction, amnioinfusion, and C-section circulation.
• Demonstrated ability to handle postpartum complications and provide appropriate care.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and infection control measures.

Our Labor and Delivery unit consists of 15 beds and manages approximately 100-200 facility births per month. We provide interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, and social services.

• Nights: 1:3 patient ratios.
• Every other weekend coverage required.
• Pre-approved time off is not available.

• Scrubs will be provided.
