Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Medical/Surgical position requiring an OK or compact RN license and AHA BLS certification.
Responsibilities- Work in a 29-bed Medical/Surgical unit within a Level I trauma center
- Caring for a diverse adult and occasional pediatric population, including patients with telemetry orders
- Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:5-6
- Supported by patient care techs and a healthcare unit coordinator
- Utilization of virtual sitters and monitor techs available for telemetry patients
- Night shift schedule: 18:30-07:00
- Duties include implementing and monitoring care plans, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and managing discharge planning
- Team supported by patient care techs and coordinators to ensure collaborative care
- Must demonstrate critical thinking skills and perform effectively under stress
- Standard precautions and PPE are required for infection control
- Local candidates accepted but at a reduced pay rate according to the facility's radius rule
- Active RN license (OK or compact) required
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of medical/surgical nursing experience
- License and Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
- All clinicians must have a US Social Security Number and US home address
