Base pay range$29.00/hr - $35.00/hr
DescriptionJob Summary:
Assess, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care utilizing the nursing process as ordered by physicians for the purpose of facilitating the effective delivery of patient care.
- Assess, organize, and carry out patient care with consideration to patient age, cultural, and psychosocial factors.
- Assist physician with patient examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments according to established protocols.
- Administer medications via intra-muscular injections and intravenously including the administration of chemotherapy as directed by physician order.
- Coordinate patient care through the triage of patient telephone calls regarding urgency of appointments, scheduling, and hospital admissions according to established protocols.
- Promote patient population wellness by providing patient education materials pursuant to physician orders and communicating physician advice and instructions to patients.
- Document all interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed or prescribed, and appropriate medical data in patient medical record according to established protocols.
- Successfully uses IDX, EMR and other computer applications to accomplish tasks according to policies and procedures.
- Decision Making:
Independent judgment in planning sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field.
- Works directly with patients and/or customers.
- Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction.
- Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction.
- Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
- Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
- One (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio‑psychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
- Working knowledge of intramuscular and intravenous medication administration techniques.
- Working knowledge of nursing principles and protocols.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality.
- Effective and appropriate assessment and assistance techniques required in the medical examination of patients.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
- Ability to be detail oriented in the examination of clinical and numerical data.

- Has completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree therefrom.
