Position Description

Job Title: Quality Assurance Nurse (LPN or RN)

Supervised By: Director of Nursing Care

Supvises: NIA

Position

Purpose:

This position has responsibility for review and completion of clinical monitors, data management, data analysis and preparation of performance improvement reports and staff scheduling. In addition, serves on hospital committees and teams, representing the quality improvement program as requested.

Position Requirements
  • Current nursing license in good standing in the State of Oklahoma
  • Degreed in nursing from an accredited nursing program
  • 1‑2 years experience in nursing center preferred
  • CPR Certification

  • Ability to speak, hear, and read English.

  • Lift up to 75 lb from floor to 21" (occasional), overhead reach with 5 lb (occasional).

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison with other departments to solve problems when identified. Report to supervisor regularly on measurements of key indicators and actions taken. Solicit input from supervisor regarding efforts to resolve issues successfully.
  • Collaborate with all disciplines and services and work cooperatively to provide services in an efficient manner within the department and between departments.
  • Utilize automated processes and clinical information systems appropriately and efficiently.
  • Prioritize multiple projects and tasks to meet changing customer needs in a timely, cost‑efficient, effective manner. Exhibit good organizational skills and maintain a positive work climate. Display professional, cooperative demeanor and remain productive under stress with frequent interruptions.
  • Utilize appropriate measurement tools, collect internal and external data, rate, aggregate, and trend data, analyze and identify implications of findings. Develop and recommend action plans to implement solutions. Schedule and conduct financial audits as requested by insurance companies.
  • Coordinate accurate and timely data collection for quality indicators, including but not limited to Joint Commission core measures, publicly recorded indicators, and other quality improvement activities. Analyze and interpret data, identify trends, compile reports, and prepare summaries for use in quality improvement efforts throughout the hospital.
  • Serve as a resource for all departments related to quality indicators.
