**** Job Profile Summary
** Under general supervision, provides preventative and health care to an assigned group of patients or clients in the OU Health facility.
** Essential Responsibilities
*** Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.
** Assists with the nursing assessment through data collection, observation, and obtainment of vital signs on assigned patients or clients.
* Provides care according to an established nursing plan.
* Observes changes in patient’s condition and notify supervisory personnel if significant changes occur.
* Provides routine ostomy care, nasogastric tube placement and feeding and placement, and discontinuing of oral-gastric tube.

Initiates and monitors oxygen therapy according to physician orders or unit protocol.
* Suctions and cleans tracheotomy sites.
* May administer oral, intravenous, intra-muscular, intra-dermal, subcutaneous, sub-lingual, vaginal, rectal, and topical medications.
* Prepares patients for routine physical examinations and assist the physician during examinations.
* An LPN can function in the role of Surgical Tech if position open is in the operating room.
** General Responsibilities
*** Performs other duties as assigned.
** Education Requirements
*** HS Diploma or GED required.
* Completion of education requirements for NCLEX-PN examination.
** Experience Requirements
*** No experience required.
** License/Certification/Registration Requirements
*** Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
* Current LPN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing OR a current multistate LPN License (eNLC) required.
** Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
*** Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures.
* Ability to organize, coordinate, plan, and evaluate nursing needs of assigned patients.
* Must be knowledgeable about operating room techniques if applying for a surgery position.
* Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.##
