Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 5E Cardiac Telemetry position on a stepdown intermediate care unit, requiring an OK or compact RN license and AHA BLS certification.

• Position is on a 28-bed cardiac telemetry stepdown/intermediate care unit
• Patient population includes all cardiac needs, including post-operative care, serving all ages
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-6
• Support staff includes PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, and monitor techs
• Virtual sitter monitoring is available
• Work is in a Level I trauma center
• Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00
• Responsibilities include implementing patient care plans, monitoring and recording patient conditions, and coordinating discharge planning
• Team-based environment with support from PCTs and a unit secretary
• Requires strong critical thinking, good judgment, and the ability to work independently in a stressful environment
• Standard precautions and PPE required as appropriate
• All holiday coverage policies based on facility need
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced pay rate depending on the radius from the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Active OK or compact RN license required
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
• At least 1 year of recent telemetry or stepdown RN experience required
• Nursys license verification must be completed within 30 days prior to the start date
• Must provide verification of current license and primary source documentation within 30 days prior to start
• Ability to provide a US Social Security Number and a US home address
• NIH Certification preferred
