McElroy is looking for an Industrial Blaster to join our team and help prepare the heavy-duty equipment that keeps our industry moving. If you enjoy hands‑on work, like seeing immediate results from your effort, and don’t mind getting a little gritty, this could be the job for you.
As an Industrial Blaster at McElroy, you’ll play a key role in preparing parts for finishing by sandblasting surfaces to remove rust, scale, and contaminants so they’re ready for coating or painting. Your work ensures that every piece leaving our facility meets the durability and quality standards McElroy is known for.
You’ll operate blasting equipment, handle a variety of metal parts, and work closely with our finishing team to keep production moving smoothly. No previous blasting experience? That’s okay—we’re looking for motivated individuals who are ready to learn and take pride in quality work.
What You’ll Do- Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare parts for finishing
- Load, unload, and move parts safely through the blasting process
- Inspect blasted parts to ensure proper surface preparation
- Maintain blasting equipment and keep work areas clean and organized
- Work from prints, sketches, and verbal instructions when needed
- Follow safety procedures and wear required protective equipment
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn
- Ability to follow instructions and work with a team
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Ability to interpret prints, sketches, and verbal descriptions
Job Requirements
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including blasting gear and respirator when required
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and handle physical tasks such as lifting and moving parts
