Position Summary

The Maintenance Manager is a hands‑on, working manager who leads by example and regularly performs maintenance and troubleshooting alongside the maintenance team. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable operations, optimal equipment performance, and a safe working environment through a combination of direct maintenance work, team leadership, preventative maintenance planning, and project management. The Maintenance Manager will oversee equipment installation and upgrades and develop systems to track, report, and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing maintenance team, fostering a positive, collaborative culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and part replacements for all production equipment.
  • Manage and coordinate with external vendors, including vendor selection, scheduling oversight of work performed, cost control, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and company standards.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and manage installation or upgrades of equipment and machinery, including employee training.
  • Coordinate with production and other departments to schedule maintenance work while minimizing production disruption.
  • Develop systems to track maintenance requests, repairs, and resolutions, ensuring timely follow‑up and accurate reporting to leadership.
  • Lead and manage maintenance related projects, including planning, budgeting, resource allocations, and timelines.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of work areas, tools, spare parts, and equipment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with operational and safety procedures.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
  • Engineering background or associate’s in industrial maintenance is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs and CMMS systems preferred.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Schedule and Availability
  • Shift and overtime requirements may vary based on production needs.
  • On-call availability.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements
  • Safety shoes and company‑issued uniforms must be worn at all times.
  • Face mask, hearing protection, gloves, and eye protection are required as determined by job task and safety guidelines.

Paid Holidays:
Eligible after a 90‑day probationary period.

Medical, Dental, Life, and Short‑Term Disability Insurance:
Coverage begins the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment Freeman Products pays 100% of employee premiums. Optional vision coverage and dependent coverage are available and paid for by the employee via pre‑tax payroll deduction.

401(k) Retirement Plan:
Available after six months of service with a company match of 50% up to the first 6% of contributions.

Paid Vacation:
Awarded after one year of service, based on years of service.

Pay:
Competitive and based on experience.
