The Thompson Creek Mine is a primary, surface molybdenum mine and mill located approximately 48 kilometres southwest of the town of Challis in Idaho's Custer County.

In operations since 1983, the mineuses conventional open-pit mining methods with large electric-powered shovels that can each move up to 100,000 tons of waste rock and ore per day.

Thompson Creek Mine promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

We are looking for a Technician, Mill Utility to join our Thompson Creek team. This entry-level role is responsible for maintaining a clean work environment throughout the Mill to support safe and efficient operations.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Handling and transporting materials.
• Perform manual labor task, including load/unload, sweep, mop, paint and organize materials.
• Assist the maintenance teams with tasks, as needed.
• Assist in operation of Mill water systems.
• Operate and maintain equipment used in the Mill.
• Daily workplace inspections to ensure safety standards are met.
• Responsible for inventory.
• Other duties may be assigned.

To qualify, the following skills and experience are required :

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Excellent safety record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work safely and effectively independently, as well in a team environment.
• Good communications and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work in a culturally diverse environment.
• Ability to work tasks under various weather conditions.
• Attention to detail and accuracy when completing tasks.
