Position SummaryThe Mechanical Final Assembler is responsible for the mechanical and structural assembly of rail vehicles in accordance with technical drawings, specifications, and production schedules. This role requires precision, teamwork, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble equipment, sub-assemblies, and vehicle structures according to engineering drawings and specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and bills of materials
- Perform inspections to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards
- Use hand and power tools in alignment with assembly instructions
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Manual dexterity and ability to work with tools
- Commitment to workplace safety and team collaboration
- IPC or related industry certifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical or structural assembly
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Kaizen principles
- Ability to perform quality inspections based on technical documentation
- Experience in the rail, aerospace, or automotive manufacturing industry
- Manufacturing shop floor environment
- Standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs) regularly
- PPE required (provided by employer)
