Job Summary

The Foundry Production Manager directs and coordinates daily operations and schedule for the foundry, ensuring customer requirements and delivery schedules are met while minimizing costs and adhering to strict quality and engineering specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Generate, direct, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production and maintenance schedules.
  • Review scheduled work orders and earned hours to ensure all customer orders and production schedules are met and there are no job order variances (JOV).
  • Review, create, and vet foundry routers for accuracy and maintain them to ensure quality and product costing accuracy.
  • Quote setup and run times for foundry products.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering, leads, management, metallurgist, and 3rd party vendors to solve problems with part production or quality regarding tooling, patterns, melt instruction, or equipment.
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of foundry personnel including training, employee development, performance evaluation, discipline actions, hiring decisions, vacation schedules, shift schedules, and time management on work orders.
  • Promote a safety culture and enforce all NOV HSE policies and procedures and applicable local regulations. Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
  • Ensure all requirements for location quality certifications such as ISO, API, and welding certifications are met and adhered to.
  • Investigate all customer escapes in collaboration with Quality, Engineering, and or metallurgist and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence for foundry product.
  • Analyze and address product nonconformities (scrap, rework, use-as-is) to improve the cost of quality for the foundry.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing to ensure all employees are properly informed about policies, procedures, location performance, programs, work schedules, etc.
  • Drive continuous improvement of foundry in areas of Safety, Quality, LEAN, Delivery, Lead‑Time Reduction, and Cost to enhance performance.
  • Lead the foundry in process improvements and capital expenditures to increase throughput, quality, and maintain cost control.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related major preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of in‑depth knowledge of sand cast process, working with cast iron, ductile iron, and nickel‑aluminum bronze.
  • Minimum 5 years of Foundry Management or supervisory experience.
  • APICS and/or LEAN/Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience with raw materials, sand management, and secondary operations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and understanding of MRP systems.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to talk, hear, walk, stand, bend, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
  • Corrected vision of 20/20.
  • Exposure to moving vehicles, overhead cranes, extreme ambient temperatures, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particulates.
  • Work environment noise level moderate to noisy.
  • Required to wear appropriate PPE, including hard hat, face mask, gloves, and steel‑toed boots.
