Regulatory Compliance Specialist
JOB SUMMARY
The Compliance Director is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization’s Compliance Program. This role ensures adherence to applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and industry standards while fostering an ethical culture and supporting sound risk‑management practices. The Director provides strategic and operational leadership across compliance functions, including policy governance, monitoring and testing, training, investigations, reporting, and risk assessment.
This position partners closely with Legal, HR, Operations, IT, and Internal Audit.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Compliance Program.
- Support the Compliance Committee and prepare materials for senior leadership and the Board.
- Maintain and enhance the Compliance Work Plan.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Lead enterprise-wide risk assessments.
- Develop and oversee risk-based monitoring/auditing plans.
- Oversee investigations of compliance concerns.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory alignment.
- Prepare compliance reports, KPIs, and trend analyses.
- Mentor compliance staff and support team development.
- Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field required
- Master's degree preferred
- 3+ years of progressive compliance, audit, risk, or regulatory experience.
- Experience with compliance management or GRC systems.
- Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrate integrity, independence, and sound judgment.
- Build cross-functional relationships and drive accountability.
- Deep understanding of federal and state regulatory requirements, industry standards, and compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with internal audit processes, monitoring techniques, control testing, and documentation standards.
- Knowledge of investigative procedures, evidence handling, documentation standards, and root-cause analysis.
- Skill in analyzing complex regulatory guidance, risk data, audit findings, and translating them into actionable insights.
- Ability to partner with Legal, HR, Audit, Security, Operations, and other teams to ensure organizational alignment.
- HIPPA Certification Preferred.
