Industrial Engineering Supervisor

Responsible for supervising, training, and developing the continuous improvement team, managing workloads and fostering skill growth. Contributes to the planning for the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations relative to the production of components, parts, systems and subsystems of operational aircraft. Develops and provides leadership to institutionalize the processes of Continuous Improvement in accordance with organization goals and objectives.

• Accomplishes results through direct reports and staff working within established organizational objectives.
• Performs typical responsibilities of management requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and coaching. Work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting cost, schedule and quality objectives.
• Manages the Continuous Improvement staff related to the improvement of efficiencies in operations relative to production of components, parts, systems, and subsystems of operational aircraft.
• Studies functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units and to identify areas of duplication.
• Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Conducts cost justification analysis and return on investment calculations to assist in make or buy decisions. Recommends make or buy actions to management.
• Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. Confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
• Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
• Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
• Functions as project manager, when assigned, while performing supervision over the Continuous Improvement area assigned. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, directing work and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.

Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree. Industrial Engineering from four-year college or university

Preferred Other. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification

Preferred Other. Some post graduate study in relative discipline

If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.
