This role requires 100% travel to project sites across the U.S.

Role Summary

The General Superintendent will develop and execute project plans, oversee complex projects, manage teams, plan construction sequencing, and meet project goals aligned with JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values.

• Autonomy & Decision-Making: Operate independently, adapt plans, make decisions, guide managers, consult supervisors as needed.

• Career Path: Director of Field Operations.

Core Responsibilities

Superintendent Family - Core

• Lead safety culture, promote injury-free environment, investigate incidents, retrain staff.

• Manage subcontractors, overall workflow, staff, suppliers, and programs like Safety, Quality, EEO.

• Develop work plans, coordinate project site care, lead meetings, manage schedules, monitor budgets.

• Communicate with stakeholders, maintain documentation, approve costs, evaluate progress, manage materials and equipment.

• Support project closeouts, participate in project pursuit, and promote diversity and inclusion.

Additional Responsibilities - General Superintendent

• Manage large, complex projects, oversee multiple projects and teams, lead strategic initiatives, develop training content, deliver leadership messages.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Work accuracy, communication skills, presentation skills, proficiency in MS Office, construction management fundamentals, relationship building, project management software, lean principles, trade knowledge, self-perform and labor productivity, budget management, layout, crane operations, productivity rates, teamwork.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s in construction management, engineering, or related; or equivalent experience.

• 12+ years construction, 10+ years supervision, lean project experience (preferred).

Working Environment

• Valid driver’s license required.
