Job Summary

The Facilities / Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting a safe, clean, and fully functional facility by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems, equipment, and office fixtures. This role helps ensure that all utilities and facility systems operate reliably with minimal disruption to daily operations. The position reports to the Facilities Manager.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform routine facility maintenance activities to support a safe, clean, and fully functional Roxtec facility, including utilities, building systems, and preparation for changing weather conditions.
  • Work directly with outside vendors and contractors to schedule, monitor, and support facilities for maintenance and repair work.
  • Escort contractors and vendors while on site and verify work performed on building repair and maintenance activities, including mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, septic, fire safety systems, alarms, landscaping, physical security, utilities, refuse, roofing, and building structure.
  • Conduct periodic building and systems inspections with a high level of attention to detail to identify maintenance needs and required repairs.
  • Monitor building HVAC and plumbing systems and report issues or irregularities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Utilize Maint Master maintenance management software to document, track, and support scheduling of maintenance-related activities, including assigned key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support Production and Warehouse Supervisors with scheduled and emergency equipment maintenance as directed.
  • Maintain Roxtec indoor environment standards, including lighting, air quality, temperature, and noise levels; support energy efficiency and conservation efforts within the facility.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations related to facility maintenance activities and contractor work.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of maintenance supplies, materials, and tools to support daily operations.
  • Safely operate forklifts and scissor lifts, including successful completion of required safety training.
  • Assist with office moves, furniture assembly, and workspace reconfiguration as needed.
  • Provide responsive, service-oriented support to employees and internal customers by addressing reported or observed maintenance issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned.

Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of general facilities and building maintenance methods, operating requirements, and applicable safety precautions
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and follow-through skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and applicable environmental regulations
  • Strictly adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and safe work practices while always maintaining an overall heightened awareness of safety
  • Availability to respond to after-hours or emergency maintenance issues as required
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees and contractors at all levels of the organization
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
