Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Peer Recovery Support Specialist based in Tulsa, OK. The Peer Recovery Support Specialist will provide support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges or in recovery from substance abuse by offering peer counseling, facilitating recovery groups, and promoting access to community resources. Responsibilities include building supportive relationships, assisting clients in navigating services, and fostering empowerment and independence in their recovery journeys.

The role also involves documentation, collaboration with healthcare professionals, and advocacy for client needs within the community.

Qualifications
  • Strong communication and customer support skills to effectively engage and build relationships with individuals and groups.
  • Proficiency in analytical skills for problem-solving and assessing client needs.
  • Ability to provide technical support and troubleshooting related to accessing resources and services.
  • Compassion, empathy, and understanding of challenges faced by people with mental health and substance use issues.
  • Personal lived experience with recovery from mental health or substance use challenges is strongly encouraged.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in peer recovery support is a plus.
  • Must possess reliable transportation and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
