Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant; PRN

The Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) will function under the guidance of the Rehab Medicine Manager, and the staff Occupational Therapists. The COTA follows the treatment plans as established by the Occupational Therapist and administers modalities and other related procedures, under the prescription of the patient’s physician and supervision of the Occupational Therapist. Treatment will be provided in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position’s qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards, to help attain the patient’s maximum level of independence and performance.

He/she is responsible for documenting and communicating all necessary information to all appropriate parties. The COTA is responsible for the care of patients in all areas of OSU Medical Center, as the situation requires. The COTA must follow standards of performance for Occupational Therapist Assistants as established by all governing bodies. He/she also performs other duties as required.

Education:

2-year/Associate Degree

License: OK license as Occupational Therapist Assistant (new graduate must take the exam within 3 months and receive full licensure within 9 months)
