Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for juveniles, focusing on mental health support, emotional regulation, and behavior modification.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
  • Complete assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports for all clients.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals, caseworkers, and Tulsa County Juvenile facility staff to create treatment plans and ensure the well‑being of the youth.
  • Offer support for families, including providing family therapy or referrals to community‑based resources.
  • Monitor the mental health of detained juveniles, identifying changes in their emotional or behavioral status.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date case records and documentation in compliance with facility standards and regulations.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal guidelines regarding confidentiality and professional practice.
  • Participate in regular case reviews and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Provide education and training to staff on mental health issues affecting juveniles.
  • Work collaboratively with Juvenile Bureau staff to provide a milieu supportive of the juveniles.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Current licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) in the state of Oklahoma.
  • Experience working with juveniles in a correctional, detention, or institutional setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of adolescent mental health disorders, trauma‑informed care, and behavioral interventions.
  • Excellent communication, crisis management, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and interdisciplinary team.
  • ibility, patience, and a genuine commitment to the well‑being of youth.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding juvenile care and treatment.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working in a milieu setting.
  • Experience with family therapy and working with at‑risk families.
  • Certification in trauma‑informed care or similar specialized training.
  • Bilingual (Spanish, ASL, or other languages) is a plus.
