Job Summary
Provide police communications and dispatching, maintain police files and records, and perform a wide variety of complex clerical and typing duties requiring specialized knowledge in the police field.
This is a Safety Sensitive position pursuant to Oklahoma Statute OKLA. STAT. tit. 63,
* 427.8 (2020).
- Respond to emergency and non‑emergency calls, determining the level and nature of police assistance required.
- Simultaneously run various software applications, such as alarm systems and camera interfaces.
- Operate OLETS/CJIS for police department investigations.
- Operate phone systems and radio communication.
- Document via CAD all activity the police department takes action on.
- Attend continuing education classes for dispatchers.
- Provide service and protection to all TCC students, staff, and structures.
High School diploma or GED Degree.
1 year of Law Enforcement Dispatch.
Visual and hearing acuity, stamina for extended periods of sitting or standing, and the ability to handle repetitive tasks. Must be able to type accurately and quickly, use computers, and communicate clearly under pressure.
Work 12 hour shifts in a Dispatch center including but not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays.
Not currently be under an Internal Affairs Investigation from any duly recognized law enforcement agency for any reason.
Not have been convicted of a felony or a crime of moral turpitude.
