Role
- What You’ll Do:

As a Tax Intern, you'll be taking on real and meaningful client work that builds your skills while giving you the support and guidance to succeed. In this role you’ll collaborate with Mariner’s Tax professionals to learn about personal, fiduciary, S‑Corporation, partnership, private foundation, and gift tax returns. This role provides hands‑on learning that will enable you to develop foundational knowledge of tax planning and compliance.

At Mariner, your growth matters. Through your internship, you will:

  • Work in coordination with Wealth teams to service clients as it relates to integrated tax and wealth planning.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns, income tax projections, estimated tax vouchers, and extension forms.
  • Collaborate with our Tax professionals on special projects and work that directly supports our clients.
  • Skills:

    Your Strengths
  • Strong aptitude for working with numbers and performing detailed calculations accurately.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting or tax principles.
  • Eagerness to learn and ask questions in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.
  • Able to work well within a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to shared goals in a professional environment.
  • High level of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive client information.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain findings clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; willingness to learn specialized tax planning and preparation software.
Required Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with an expected graduation date within 30 months of the start of the internship (May 2026).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Majoring in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship needs.
Physical Demands/Requirements:

Visual requirements include distant, close and color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of talent across multiple US geographic markets. The hourly pay for this position is $26 per hour.
