Position Summary

Francis Energy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Controller with demonstrated potential for growth and advancement to the Controller role to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As an Assistant Controller, you will play a key role in financial reporting, analysis, and process improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
  • Assist with monthly and annual closing process, financial reporting and audit
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial planning and analysis
  • Oversee and manage submitting reimbursements to state DOTs for Federal Funded projects
  • Assist in the implementation and improvement of accounting systems and processes
  • Perform other related duties as required
Education and Experience
  • B.S. in Accounting, Finance or Business. MBA
  • Proven experience as an Assistant Controller or in a similar role
  • Solid understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
  • CPA preferred
