Purpose of Role

Responsible for the accurate review, tracking, and maintenance of original collateral documentation, monitoring FHA correspondence related to the issuance of Mortgage Insurance for HECM loans, and ordering and tracking occupancy inspections for HECM for Purchase files. Supports the Insuring Department by ensuring processes are completed timely, accurately, and in compliance with HUD guidelines.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations
  • Ensures adherence to HUD guidelines regarding the handling and retention of original HUD collateral documents.
  • Reviews collateral files daily for accuracy and completeness and tracks task completion within the Loan Origination System (LOS).
  • Organizes, files, and maintains accurate and complete records of collateral packages.
  • Monitors collateral documentation and obtains required corrections in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Pulls daily not-insured reports and reviews FHA Connection (FHAC) for mortgage insurance status on assigned loans.
  • Inputs and maintains accurate Mortgage Insurance Certificate (MIC) and Notice of Return (NOR) data within the LOS.
  • Notifies and collaborates with responsible team members to resolve NORs in a timely manner.
  • Maintains accurate tracking reports for HECM for Purchase loans requiring occupancy inspections.
  • Coordinates with Appraisal Management Companies (AMCs) to order, track, and ensure completion of required occupancy inspections.
  • Supports consistent and compliant insuring operations within the Insuring Department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - Experience/Skills/Competencies
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in the reverse mortgage industry or equivalent mortgage operations experience.
  • Working knowledge of HUD guidelines and requirements related to HECM Mortgage Insurance issuance.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately review and track documentation.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with tact and diplomacy.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills with a customer‑service orientation.
  • Working knowledge of information and database management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds, as required.
  • Ability to regularly use a keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret written materials and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly through verbal and written means.

Qualifications - Education - Field(s)/Profession(s)

Mortgage Lending, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is () inclusive of all geographical differences in the labor market. The base salary for the position will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s work location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members in determining any final offer.
