Job Summary: The Budget Analyst III manages advanced budgeting and forecasting, serves as the Hyperion reporting system administrator, and creates executive-level presentations for senior leadership. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills, executive presence, and the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.

This position will have a hybrid work schedule with three days in office and two days remote (subject to change). This posting will close on January 7th.

What You Will Do
  • Perform advanced level activities related to compiling and analyzing monthly financial result variances and complex budgeting forecasts.
  • May perform advanced activities related to revenue and expense variance analysis.
  • Perform advanced level of compilation, preparation and modeling of budget information for various company department or business segments.
  • Analyze and compare actual performance compared to budgeted or forecasted expenses, income and capital expenditures.
  • Verify, review and perform calculations and/or analyses including Projections/forecasts, Variance Analysis, Operating expenses, Overheads, Depreciation (book/tax), Share based calculations, Revenue, Capital expenditures, Resource need evaluation, Productivity analysis, Financial ratios, Cash Flow.
  • Compile, verify and/or review financial information including Budgets/Forecasts versus actual expenses, Governmental/regulatory reports, Financial reports, Reconciliation reports.
  • Provide information and guidance to employees, governmental and/or regulatory agencies, auditing firms, management and others concerning budgets, accounting processes, various financial reports and forecasts.
  • Consolidate region financial reporting and develop forecasts and estimates of future performance for multiple legal entities.
  • Coordinate reporting with other departments for consistency (as specified by position).
  • Serve as a team source of knowledge in accounting & compliance requirements.
  • Review work of others and interpret procedures to determine proper system coding requirements.
  • Compile, develop, analyze, review, and present budget and forecast models that simulate business activities for the purpose of budgeting and forecasting.
  • Advise employees from auditing firms, management, and others concerning planning, accounting processes, various financial reports, and forecasts.
  • Make recommendations to improve current job and desk activities; and departmental and company wide processes and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
  • Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Will Need

Minimum Bachelor's Degree Accounting, finance, or other related field.

Experience performing complex accounting activities related to financial accounting, property accounting, account classification or gas accounting.

Experience with compliance requirements along with a proven thorough working knowledge of all administrative requirements related to environmental, safety and operations compliance audits (as specified by position).

Experience interpreting and applying generally accepted accounting methods and procedures.

Experience with application of math, algebra, and statistical methods.

Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software.

Experience and training related to:
Economic forecasting/modeling and company budget functions, Communication/interpersonal skills, Energy industry accounting functions.

Experience researching, composing, reconciling, and preparing reports, invoices, studies, and correspondence applicable to position.

Experience reading and interpreting company correspondence, reports, accounting and tax-related publications, income statements, contracts, ledgers, manuals and legal documents.

Experience interacting and communicating effectively.

Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.

Experience developing and presenting information to individuals and groups.

Experience in applying comprehensive knowledge of Codes & Compliance system and program requirements along with thorough knowledge of all administrative requirements related to environmental safety and operations compliance audits (as specified by position).

Minimum Applicable driver's license.

Mobility to travel in and around office facilities system wide.

Communicate and/or exchange information or instructions and conduct oral presentations.

Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
