The Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Intern will work for the Instrumentation and Controls Department out of our Tulsa, OK office Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. Successful candidates will be enrolled in an accredited college, technical school, or university and will have completed their Sophomore year by this summer.
The I&C Intern's focus will mainly be instrumentation, PLC & HMI systems, and infrastructure as they relate to operational technology and will have an opportunity to be directly involved in numerous projects which may include, but are not limited to:
Station Automation Upgrade involving Control Logix, SLC
500, and/or GE 90-30 PLCs, PLC communications Upgrades, Tank Level Transmitter Upgrades, Leak Detection and Vapor Monitor installations.
- Marking up instrumentation and electrical drawings.
- Wiring field devices.
- Sizing wire, conduits and calculating conduit fills.
- Verifying control panel layouts and wiring.
- Assist in system checkout, commissioning and start up.
- Working with, modifying and verifying control systems documentation including P&IDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, PID Loop documentation and Cause and Effect Diagrams.
- Completed their college Sophomore (2nd) year by this summer (degree focus should be in either Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronic Systems Technology or related field of study).
- Self-motivated.
- A high level of verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding project execution capability.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Must have own housing accommodation in or around the Tulsa area.
