Position: Electrical Estimator-2355

This position is responsible for forecasting costs for potential field projects under the guidance of a Senior Estimator, Estimating Supervisor, and/or Regional Estimating Manager.

Essential Functions
  • Reviews specification information and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Organizes bid components to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Performs takeoffs on blueprints (i.e., circuiting and scaling drawings, counting devices and equipment, etc).
  • Consults with clients, vendors, foremen/superintendents, and project managers to discuss and formulate estimates.
  • Confers with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Finalizes and follows up on completed bids.
  • Attends job site walk throughs with Senior Estimator and/or Estimating Supervisor as necessary.
  • Achieves $4,000,000/year in awarded jobs.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Education & Experience

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering and one to two years of electrical estimating experience

Computer Skills
  • Must be proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Experience in Accubid is preferred.
Other Requirements
  • Strong mathematical skills are required.
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
Bottom Line Requirements
  • 1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 2. 2+ years of electrical estimating experience.
  • 3. Experience in Accubid is preferred.
  • 4. Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • 5. Local or close enough for a short easy move.
