Project Material Planner

Materials Planner – Manufacturing (ETO/MTO Environment)

We’re hiring a Materials Planner to support project-based manufacturing operations in an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) / Make-to-Order (MTO) environment. This role works closely with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Project Management to ensure material availability and schedule adherence.

• Review Engineering BOMs and align material sourcing strategies
• Coordinate planning methods and BOM updates with Engineering/Drafting
• Create and maintain project material plans and schedules
• Release purchase requisitions and work orders to support production
• Provide material status updates to Project Managers
• Partner with Purchasing to source and expedite critical items
• Coordinate design changes and material substitutions
• Support shop floor material availability
• Assist with maintaining and updating work order BOMs

• 3+ years of materials planning or project coordination experience in manufacturing
• Experience in ETO or MTO environments
• Strong ERP/MRP system experience
• Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting, macros)
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand BOM structures
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with heavy industrial or fabricated metal products (coolers, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, etc.) preferred
• Primarily office-based with occasional shop floor visits
• PPE required in manufacturing areas (hearing protection, safety glasses, OSHA-compliant boots)
• May lift up to 25 lbs
• Full-time exempt position with occasional evening/weekend work as needed
