Fiber Engineer I
This role will assist both the Inside Plant and Outside Plant fiber engineering teams and will involve direct interaction with clients. The engineer will be responsible for creating detailed and accurate designs for fiber optic path and network communications, primarily using AutoCAD. Collaboration with other engineering staff on client projects will be essential. Success in this position will require strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
PrimaryDuties and Responsibilities
- Learn Inside Plant optical engineering design.
- Design network connections for AdTran, Xtran, SEL RTAC, and SEL Axion equipment in an electrical substation environment.
- Design communication cabinets and rack face elevations.
- Fiber system optical and route design within electrical substation campuses.
- Work with clients/customers to define requirements and scope projects.
- Coordinate with Station Engineering and other Engineering representatives to design communications building compound layout.
- Specify foundation, conduit, and power requirements for telecommunications buildings.
- Specify, bid, and procure communications structure/cabinet.
- Ensure all work activities are performed in accordance with policies, practices, procedures, standards, and rules of the company in compliance with regulations and procedures required by external agencies.
This is a Permanent position based out of Tulsa, OK.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.25 - $35.10/hr.
