We are looking for a skilled Electrical Systems Design Engineer to contribute to the planning and execution of electrical infrastructure for commercial and institutional building projects. This position works closely with clients, architects, contractors, and internal engineering teams to deliver safe, efficient, and code-compliant designs from concept through construction.

Responsibilities
  • Develop electrical design packages including power distribution, lighting layouts, panel schedules, and control systems.
  • Interpret and apply applicable electrical and life-safety regulations, including National Fire Protection Association standards such as NFPA 70 and NFPA 101, as well as relevant International Building Codes.
  • Perform electrical system studies such as demand load analysis, lighting calculations, fault current analysis, protective device coordination, and arc-flash risk assessments.
  • Utilize power system modeling software, including SKM Power Tools or comparable platforms.
  • Conduct site visits to review construction progress and verify installation aligns with design intent.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and specifications to support project deliverables.
  • Contribute to internal best practices, design guidelines, and peer review processes.
  • Serve as the electrical lead on mid-sized to large projects, providing direction and technical oversight.
  • Participate in client meetings and interdisciplinary coordination sessions.
  • Support quality assurance and quality control efforts throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Revit is required.
  • Strong understanding of electrical, energy, and life-safety regulations.
  • Experience performing arc-flash and coordination studies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with power system analysis tools preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a collaborative, solutions-driven approach.
