Position SummaryThe Piping Expeditor plays a critical role in ensuring that piping materials and related components are delivered on time and in the correct sequence to support project schedules, mitigate risks, and keep construction progress on track. You will act as a key liaison between procurement, suppliers, project teams, engineering, and construction personnel to monitor supplier performance, track deliveries, resolve delays, and communicate status updates.
Key Responsibilities- Track and monitor the status of piping materials, long-lead items, and vendor deliverables against project schedules.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers to confirm order acknowledgments, manufacturing progress, shipment dates, and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and project teams to resolve delivery issues, material discrepancies, and schedule conflicts proactively.
- Maintain detailed expediting logs, dashboards, and status reports for project stakeholders and management.
- Identify potential risks to on-time delivery and work with internal teams to implement mitigation plans.
- Support purchasing activities by reviewing PO promise dates, lead times, and supplier capacity.
- Attend project meetings and provide timely updates on material status and critical path impacts.
- Help ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
- Experience: 2+ years of expediting or procurement support experience in piping, construction, EPC, or oil & gas industries preferred.
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with ERP systems or project scheduling tools is a plus.
