Experience:

5-10 years of civil design

Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D software required.

Familiarity with industry standards for illustration of civil and design.

Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.

Ability to prepare proposals for projects, including estimating fees.

This position will provide an excellent opportunity to an individual to be part of the Civil Team Leadership Group: first leading with strong technical skills to solve site development civil challenges for clients and secondarily helping the civil team s continuous in setting up design processes, QAQC checklists and strong production drawing and modeling templates (Civil 3D).

The work varies across local, regional, and national (we are licensed to do work in the lower 48 states). The work is also diverse in serving Federal Government, Local Municipal, Retail, Commercial, Healthcare, and Industrial clients. This position will provide an individual the opportunity to lead large multi-million-dollar, multi-discipline projects as the Civil Discipline Lead or allow the individual to provide oversight of numerous smaller projects while providing direction and mentoring of civil designers and SKILLS.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil site development design projects across local, regional, and national levels within licensed jurisdictions.
• Provide oversight, direction, and mentoring of civil designers; contribute to creating and maintaining design processes and QAQC checklists.
• Develop and maintain production drawing and modeling templates (Civil 3D).
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver well-coordinated projects on time and within budgets.
• Prepare proposals for projects, including estimating fees.
• Communicate with clients and potential clients, both verbally and in writing.
• Support opportunities to lead large multi-disciplinary projects as the Civil Discipline Lead or oversee numerous smaller projects.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) with multi-state licensure (or able to obtain) and 5-10 years of civil design experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
• Familiarity with industry standards for illustration of civil design and related documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare project proposals, including estimating fees.
• Willingness to travel; overnight travel by car and by air as required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and potential clients.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D software (site/earthwork modeling experience is implied).

Activities - Site Civil Senior Engineer

• Technical completion of civil engineering site development projects and related activities including scope definition, feasibility formal calculations, modeling, review of geotechnical reports, review of site surveys, client review meetings, city development meetings, site construction observation reports, formal meeting documentation, and coordination with in-house and remote teams.
• Participate in a multi-discipline team environment delivering well-coordinated projects in a timely manner within team budgets. Limited local, regional, and national travel for documenting existing conditions is part of the job.
