Position Summary: Provides complex technical support for an organization’s data and voice network infrastructure. The role involves installing, maintaining, and supporting network systems, while also serving as Tier 2 support for networking issues. The successful candidate will resolve escalated technical issues, manage network components, and collaborate with vendors and colleagues to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience: Ten (10) years’ experience with data engineering, network systems, and network domains
- Hands-on experience working with networking technologies (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers)
- Experience detailing large projects related to design, cost, technical requirements, and future needs assessments
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:
- Requires industry certifications such as Microsoft MCSE, VMWare VCP, EMC EMCSA, Net App NCDA, Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent work experience
- Strong knowledge of server planning and engineering, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, VMware virtualization architecture, and SAN technologies
- Knowledge of data center HVAC, electrical power, space management, enterprise backup/archive systems, and disaster recovery planning
- Working knowledge of firewalls, proxy servers, Internet monitoring, TCP/IP networking and services (DNS, DHCP, FTP, SMTP, SNMP), VPN, and Ethernet technologies
- Experience with Cisco routers, switches, wireless controllers, and infrastructure backbone equipment, including Windows 2016 and higher, Windows 10 and higher operating systems in an enterprise environment
- Preferred knowledge of Microsoft 365, Power School, and Tyler Munis
