Facility Planning Designer

Overview

Prepare AutoCAD drawings per given site verification (SV) or direct instruction.

• Create and maintain projects under the guidance of the project manager
• Translate Field Technician notes (site verification) into CAD using AAON standard Facility Drafting Department protocol

• Prefer some formal college level education in related fields (i.e. Engineering Graphics)
• Familiarity of basic building construction including codes, restrictions, and regulations
• Minimum 1-3 years of AutoCAD experience in building construction layout related field (i.e. civil, structural, architectural, plumbing, mechanical, or electrical)

• Must be proficient with AutoCAD 2D using Model Space/Paper Space Layouts
• Must be proficient using both singular and multi-file organization within a single project
• Must be able to take direction and work with little oversight
• Must be organized and keep up project record logging
• Must have good communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Knowledge of other CAD programs encouraged (other 2D drawing and/or modelers)

• Work will usually take place in the Drafting Offices with standard computer workstation.
• Work may require physical trips into the Production Areas which require safety equipment and practices such as personal protective equipment (PPE)
