Job DescriptionAEP’s Station Engineering team is looking for a Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering Associate to join our team in Tulsa, OK. AEP offers challenging career development opportunities across our 11‑state footprint, designing electrical substation layouts, managing multi‑million‑dollar projects, and supporting many engineering teams.
Technical Expertise- Knowledge and experience in applying theory to solve well‑defined problems or provide analysis, with guidance from higher‑level engineers.
- Assists higher‑level engineers in handling well‑defined portions of more complex problems and analyses.
- Fundamental understanding of relevant standards, codes, and regulations.
- Familiarity with pertinent equipment, materials, systems, and business processes.
- Coordinates work activities of others to resolve routine engineering tasks.
- Works within established policies and procedures; generally monitored by higher‑level employees.
- Performs work activities as assigned and coached by higher‑level employees.
- Collaborates with peers, shares information, and seeks assistance as necessary.
- Ready to assume leadership roles when opportunities arise.
- Provides input to routine project planning documents related to scheduling using techniques such as CPM, PERT, and flow charts.
- Monitors project status and recommends actions accordingly.

- Completes work according to plans and schedules established by higher‑level employees.

- Grounding, lightning shielding & lightning studies (Electrical).
This is an entry‑level position for new graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET.*
