Overview
Work collaboratively with the Integrated Acute Care team (emergency, critical care, and hospital medicine service lines also managed by USACS).
Responsibilities- Lead the team in the ICU to manage cardiovascular critical care patients.
- Shifts:
7 a.m.
- 7 p.m. (12 hours), 14 shifts/month in the CV ICU. - Consult in the medical and surgical ICU units (MICU/SICU) at Ascension St. John’s, working with ICU-hospitalists and advanced nurse practitioners.
- Shifts:
7 a.m.
- 7 p.m. (12 hours), 14 shifts/month in the MICU/SICU. - Collaborate with USACS Tele-Critical Care to support night teams with board‑certified intensivists.
- Participate in a 24-hour closed‑ICU staffing model, including 24 hours of intensivists, 72 hours of dedicated ICU‑hospitalists, and 60 hours of APP coverage.
- Board‑certified/board‑eligible critical care physician (intensivist); pulmonary/critical care physician acceptable.
- Experience in cardiovascular critical care and in a cardiac/cardiovascular surgery program.
- Minimum 2 years of prior critical‑care/acute‑care ICU experience.
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR is required.
