The Muskogee Oklahoma VA is currently recruiting for a Physician - Urology to work at the Ernest Childers Department of Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic in Tulsa OK.
Qualifications- Basic Requirements
- United States Citizenship; non‑citizens may only be appointed when no qualified citizen can be recruited.
- Doctor of medicine or equivalent, from an approved VA school.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or D.C.
- Completed residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty leading to board certification.
- For academic physicians, board certification for faculty status may be required.
- Residents in ACGME or AOA accredited programs eligible as Physician Resident Providers under specific conditions.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Preferred Experience
- Experience in enterostomy and intestinal conduit procedures.
- Experience with transurethral surgery, prostate and bladder tumor resection, and other advanced urologic procedures.
- Physical Requirements
- Physically and mentally able to perform essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Vision, color vision, hearing, or speech may be required depending on duties.

- Provide surgical treatment of urologic injuries and diseases, perform a full range of complete urological surgical procedures, diagnostic, management, and counseling services to veteran population.
- Assure high quality and safety patient care in and out of the operating room.
- Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation for surgical or medical genitourinary patients.
- Demonstrate inpatient or consultative services for at least 50 patients in past 12 months.
- Provide documentation of urological surgery services representing the scope and complexity of privileges during previous 24 months (waived for recent graduates).
- Authorized Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – student loan repayment up to $200,000.
- Eligibility requires submission within four months of appointment and compliance with VHA policy.
- Program award and eligibility period determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office.
- Former EDRP participants are ineligible.
- Monday‑Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
