Lead Technical Designer to oversee all Bill of Material Generation and Mechanical Customer Drawing Generation for project orders, including training new employees on generating Customer Drawings and shop Bill of Materials.

Responsibilities include:

Translating design requirements from standards, contract info, customer specs, proposal drawings, P&’s, flow diagrams, and other data into actual product design and details.

Creating proposals, arrangement models/drawings, models, and detail/assembly drawings for both non-pressure and pressure components.

Determining appropriate views, sections, and orientations on drawings for effective communication.

Ensuring drawings comply with proposal requests, contract specifications, and applicable standards (company, ASME sections I and VIII).

Verifying drawing accuracy concerning dimensions, fits, and tolerances.

Reviewing vendor equipment drawings per contract requirements.

Part-time checking of arrangements and/or assembly/detail drawings as needed.

Working from proposal, early contract, or final design information.

Preparing complete Bills of Materials for project material requirements.

Creating shop support documents such as DXF files for CNC cutting and bend instructions.

Participating in process improvement exercises.

Understanding and utilizing metal fabrication techniques for effective production sequencing.

Generating shipping lists for items shipped from production facilities.

Traveling domestically to perform equipment walk-downs and establish site-specific requirements as assigned.

Interfacing with fabrication facilities to resolve assembly and installation issues.

Performing other duties as required.

Education: High School Diploma;
Vocational/Technical training.

Experience:

Mechanical Design Drafting 4-6 years
AutoCAD 4-6 years
3D Inventor 4-6 years

Locations: US-KS-Chanute (primary), US-MS-West Point, US-OK-Tulsa.
