As a vital part of our Bronson Brookside team, you’ll be the friendly face that welcomes customers, supports Children’s programming, and helps address behavior. A tolerance for child-level energy and noise is beneficial. Some of our special services include regular story times, Build‑a‑Reader programming and Huck’s Hideaway Children’s Patio! Customer Service Assistants also help navigate library services and ensure our spaces are organized, inviting, and accessible.

Whether you’re assisting with checkouts, guiding users through technology, or supporting library programs, your work will make a meaningful impact every day.

$14.42 an hour

Part-Time, 20 hours a week

• Tuesdays: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
• Thursdays: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
• Saturdays: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

• Provide top‑on‑line customer service in person and over the phone
• Assist with library materials: check in/out, renewals, sorting, and shelving
• Help customers use self‑checkout machines and digital tools
• Issue and update library cards
• Maintain neat and organized service areas
• Support programming and tech help as needed

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfort with basic technology and a willingness to learn more
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• A team player who’s adaptable and ready to jump in wherever needed

• High school diploma or GED required
• Some college coursework preferred
• Previous customer service experience is a plus
