Position Description
This position offers intermediate-level support to the full life cycle of natural gas construction projects, focusing on large‑scale projects. As a Project Manager II, you will partner with all internal and external stakeholders to manage the project from initiation to completion. Any industry or construction project experience, CAPM or PMP certifications would be beneficial. While the responsibilities do include field/site visits, this position will be fully in‑office.

- Provides an intermediate level of full life‑cycle management of natural gas construction projects.
- Responsible for requirements gathering, project scoping, stakeholder coordination, design and construction scheduling, construction management, and financial analysis.
- Supports all aspects of natural gas construction projects from initiation through closure to ensure on‑time delivery of service, including monitoring and communicating the project's deadlines, scope, budget and costs.
- Develops scope, schedule and milestones for natural gas construction projects.
- Improves design and construction project management policies and procedures.
- Reviews construction plans, runs economic evaluations, drafts contract documents, and negotiates gas installation agreements with developers as applicable.
- Creates communication plans for applicable internal and external stakeholders, including developers, engineers, plumbers, site superintendents, city permitting agencies, permitting consultants, internal engineering staff, operations, resource management, right of way, and legal.
- Monitors and tracks progress of natural gas construction projects and provides status updates to stakeholders.
- Reviews and communicates scheduling data to ensure project consistency and optimization, resolving problems and issues as needed.
- Develops and maintains relationships with applicable internal and external stakeholders.
- Provides information and assistance to stakeholders involved in the natural gas construction projects.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance in performance of job duties.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
- Knowledge of gas distribution system infrastructure design and materials, construction methods, and project durations.
- Ability to interpret engineering construction plans, mechanical drawings, equipment specifications, and rate schedules.
- Experience with scheduling principles and practices.
- Knowledge or training in:
- Gas‑fired equipment design and operation
- Line extension program
- Job order preparation (specified by position)
- Pressure request procedures
- Experience using project management software and office equipment, including computers and applicable software.
- Experience researching and composing reports, studies, cost analyses, contracts, and correspondence.
- Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively.
- Application of math, algebra, and statistics.
- Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
- Minimum applicable driver’s license for travel to meet with customers and attend various civic and community functions.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Mobility to travel in and around office and outdoor environments and job sites.
